The new Windows 7 Mobile operating system has been completely redone as Microsoft has started from scratch to create the Windows 7 mobile series. This series has been made to compete with the brand new iPhone OS as well as Google Android. Microsoft has also stated about windows mobile 7 that it handles all the latest audio/video upgrades.
One of the most important things about a mobile OS is its interface and the face of Windows 7 is actually quite original, creating a “chromeless†and “authentically digital†appearance. This means that there are no shaded icons, drop shadows, and other visual flairs that slow down performance. The design is very simple which puts it in a class of its own on a market that usually sells bloated and slow mobile operating systems.
The Start screen has been completely redone and now focuses on using sets of tiles instead of buttons to link to contacts or applications. Most of these types of visuals can be customized by the user, allowing the individual to place priority icons on the top of the list while putting less-used items at the bottom of the list. It may take a little time in order to get used the layout, unlike the left-to-right of most phones, lists on this phone go up and down, this configuration does have some advantages though as the graphics seem to reach out less when that configuration.
Overall this system is a very striking and very futuristic approach towards Mobile qwerty phone operating systems. They’re design and interface has shown that Microsoft is able to learn from their previous mistakes and create more agile, newer, and smarter products. It isn’t completely flawless however as there are still a number of odd behavior on the operating system but that’s a problem for most new operating systems and with time it will greatly improve.
